Sound of the Earth Music and Arts Foundation will present Disney’s Aladdin in Concert Live to Film with the Oscar®️, Golden Globe®️ and Grammy®️-winning score performed live, performed by Ponte Orchestra and Singers under the baton of conductor Stephen Lam on 9th & 10th May, 2026 in Hong Kong Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Wan Chai.
In the mythical city of Agrabah, Aladdin is a street-smart go-getter dreaming of a better life. Princess Jasmine is the clever, confident daughter of the Sultan, longing to be free from a sheltered existence inside the palace walls. When a chance encounter brings the pair together and reveals an evil plot by the sorcerer Jafar, the two set out on a magic carpet ride of adventure to foil Jafar’s wicked plan. With the help of his best friend the monkey Abu, and a wise-cracking Genie, voiced by the legendary Robin Williams, Aladdin learns to achieve his dreams by believing in himself.
Released in 1992, the film won Academy Awards®️ for Best Song (“A Whole New World”) and Best Original Score. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken collaborated on six songs for the film, including “Arabian Nights,” “Friend Like Me,” and “Prince Ali.” After Ashman’s death in 1991, Tim Rice wrote additional songs, notably “One Jump Ahead” and “A Whole New World.”
The presentation is licensed by Disney Concerts.
